Teach Me How to Fish

Cranberry Recruitment is a full-cycle recruitment firm dedicated to landing professionals at all levels roles in inelastic industries. We look at a minimum of 3,000 resumes a month from all levels - entry to C-suite. Unlike other recruitment firms, our people are passionate about what they do and want to give back to the community. 

Early in our history, our founder, Eric Medore, started doing weekly sessions with veterans from any industry or years of experience for quick resume writing services. As the company grew, more requests came from all angles for similar services. 

While this is not our primary service, we are recognized as industry leaders in this area of expertise. We hire passionate people on our team that are passionate about what they do, our team wanted to help others on their job search that they would not normally have the opportunity to work with. 

We take the “give a man a fish, feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime” approach with regards to the job search. We will give you the tools to conduct your job search on your own with headhunter level results. We will pay it forward by providing a similar tailored service to someone in need looking for a job. When you register, you can select if you’d like to pay it forward to a veteran/military transitioning, parent/caregiver re-entering the workforce, or someone with a disability. 

This is not a resume writing service, this is an educational opportunity. Resume writing is only good for one job search and the writer will spend more time making the resume look pretty than what a resume is supposed to do: get your foot in the door for you to sell your experience. 

We’ll start off by discussing your experience and where you’d like to go in the future. Then we’d begin walking through your resume step by step with things to change, why you change them, maximizing appeal, and how to discuss it in an interview. 

After that we will take you through linkedin and other sites and teach you how to search for those roles (and how to search for roles and what to do when you’re looking for your NEXT job 5 years from now). We’ll discuss how to talk to hiring managers and the best way to interview. 

Following the session, should you have any questions at any point during your career, you can reach out! We will also donate a similar session to someone in need: usually a veteran or transitioning military personnel, parent/caregiver re-entering the workforce, someone with a disability, or someone else in need that would not have the opportunity to receive this support. 

No, we primarily do permanent placements in the energy industry and beyond. If you’re a good fit for one of the roles in the future we will reach out, but there are no promises, especially for the Teach Me How to Fish program as the program is a teaching program not a resume writing service. Our recruiters have been doing similar work volunteering to “pay it forward” to the veteran community and want to expand that access to more people as at some point in everyone’s life - you’re on the job hunt and not sure what to do at least once! 

Graduating soon? Perfect, we know how to help. Find yourself out of a role? We’ve been there and done that! This is for all people at all levels. As long as you’re 18 and have a desire to work, then we will talk to you. It doesn’t matter if you’re 18 or 78, we’re here. 

We also highly recommend this as a gift for a college graduate, you will still be able to pay it forward even if it is a gift. 

If you’re interested, fill out the simple contact form on this page. You’re able to ask any questions etc that you want in that form. Our recruiters select whom they want to work with based on 1) first come first serve 2) need of the individual. As you can imagine, there is a lot of interest from the public in these services. While we lose money on these services, we love to pay it forward and help others, but can only do so in a limited capacity. 

If you’re selected you’ll be notified by Cranberry with answers to your questions. Should you decide to move forward, you’ll be prompted to pay the $75 fee, after you do, you’ll be able to pick a time that works for the session by the recruiter directly. 

After the session is scheduled, you’ll be able to send your information and burning questions before the session so the recruiter can best prepare. The session itself is one-on-one with a minimum of 40 minutes. 10 minutes to get to know each other and your needs, 30 minutes (minimum) of direct one to one instruction from a professional headhunter on your search. 

After the session, we will follow up to see if you need anymore help and let you know when the “pay it forward” donation was given to help a person in need. [Note: do to privacy reasons, we can’t tell you anything about the person paying it forward to.] 

Unfortunately no, our company is focused on full-cycle recruitment so it is a limited and exclusive service. We can only do this when time allows our staff, but as we’ve said before our staff is passionate about what they do and want to do more. Remember, your donation also pays it forward to someone in need. Those people are ALWAYS contacted and supported. 

Inquiries and chats are always free! We would love to hear from you and help everyone, but we unfortunately cannot. We can only do a few of these per week and demand is much higher. To keep demand at a controllable level, we ask for a $75 donation. 

The $75 donation goes towards 2 things: the Teach Me How to Fish session for yourself and one other (veteran, someone in poverty, single parent, whatever you choose). It covers prep time for the session, the first 10-15 minutes of getting to know your aspirations, 30 minutes + for the session itself, all for you and someone in need that you’re donating to. 

Once you join our network, you won’t be a stranger, we will reach out in the future if there are any opportunities that fit your profile. You’re also welcome to come back at any time for advice! We love what we do and are passionate about our PEOPLE!
